You are invited to make history happen. Become a member of one of the oldest historical societies in the Midwest and make a real difference. We are preserving the historic Governor John Wood Mansion, the History Museum (Old Library Building) and the extensive collection of artifacts and documents that tell the story of how we became who we are. The Historical Society’s education and school programs, a weekly column in the Quincy Herald-Whig, excellent programs and presentations, interpretive exhibits in the History Museum and the Lincoln Gallery, historical research, and collaborative efforts with other organizations all serve our members and our community.
