We are creeping past the half-way point toward our goal of raising $50,000. So many people are responding with donations and stories of what that building means to them, that it makes us even more certain that moving into the old Library Building is the absolute right thing to do!
We are deeply grateful for this response, and appreciate the love Quincy has for this wonderful space. If you too love this building, please send a contribution at whatever level is comfortable for you.
Now the progress report:
A crew of men from Quincy Storage & Transfer Company spent an entire day carefully moving antique display cases, artifacts and other things to the building. We are arranging cases and securing them in preparation for holding exhibits and merchandise.
Progress is being made on finding more energy-efficient lighting which will lower utility bills and reduce the heat load created by the bulbs (which will help the summer AC bills).
Work is beginning on interactive displays.
New merchandise is coming for the gift shop.
We are looking for additional volunteers for both downtown and the Mansion.
It’s an exciting time. We invite you to be a part of it with us.
